De Sa takes swipe at Chiefs

Johannesburg - Roger de Sa has taken a pot-shot at Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the Soweto derby, saying the Glamour Boys are only now on a level par with Orlando Pirates.

According to football411.com website, the two PSL juggernauts will clash at the FNB Stadium on Saturday with three massive points up for grabs, with pace setters Amakhosi currently leading the Buccaneers after 13 league matches.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Soccer City encounter, De Sa said: "For the first time in a while, both teams are evenly matched."

Pirates head into the match on the back of a dour goalless draw against Premiership strugglers Chippa United, leaving the Sea Robbers three points behind Chiefs, who thrashed Ajax Cape Town 3-0 last time out.

De Sa, though, feels the form book can be thrown out the window come match-day.

"Previous form does not count ahead of a derby match," he said.

"The game is a massive game, showpiece for the South African football that we can be proud of. This is the face of SA football and both teams need to step it up a bit."

Looking ahead to Saturday's kick-off, he added: "I foresee an open game; both teams like to have a go at the other.

"We got to focus on what we can do, cat and mouse situation. If they don't have the ball, there isn't much that they can do."
