De Sa eyes TKO semis

Cape Town - After an impressive run in the CAF Champions League, Orlando Pirates head coach Roger de Sa is now switching his focus solely to the Telkom Knockout quarter-final encounter against Golden Arrows.

The Buccaneers will lock horns, for the last semi-final spot on offer in the R4.25m competition, against Abafana Besthende at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The clash was moved to a mid-week date following Bucs’ participation in the continent’s premier competition.

“We have a job to do, it’s great to return with a positive result in the CAF competition but now our focus is on the local scene,” De Sa told Pirates' official website.

“We have Golden Arrows up next. They are not an easy side to beat but we will plan accordingly and hope for a positive outcome on Wednesday evening.”

The last time the two sides met in the competition was back in November 2011 at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Sea Robbers enjoyed a 3-1 triumph on the night courtesy of Siyabonga Sangweni, Oupa Manyisa and Thulasizwe Mbuyane strikes, while Robyn Johannes was on target for the Durban-based outfit.

The match is scheduled to commence at 19:30.
