Cape Town - After signing a new contract extension with Ajax Cape Town, Roger De Sa has reiterated his commitment to promoting young players from the Ikamva academy.
The former Orlando Pirates boss put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2018 on Monday.
Since joining the club in 2014, De Sa has earned plaudits for giving youngsters like Aboubakr Mobara, Rivaldo Coetzee, Brandon Petersen and Riyaad Norodien the platform to develop their talent within the first team.
And the the 51-year-old reaffirmed his desire to continue looking to the club's academy and giving promising talent the chance to play for the club.
"When I arrived, I always believed in the youth and played them, that's just the way I am, and that’s probably the reason why they have offered me this new contract, because of the way I have done things," De Sa told KickOff.
"And I'll continue this way, always to plan ahead and give the kids a chance, when they deserve a chance. It’s about when and how to promote them, and so far it’s worked for us.
"There’s a great bunch of kids, and for me, one of the main reasons to stay is the quality of these young players I have - they motivate me as well, it’s not just about me motivating them."
