De Sa: We must keep our feet on the ground

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town head coach Roger de Sa has been whipping his players into shape for the Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Urban Warriors lifted their first trophy in six years following their 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 final at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.

However, De Sa was keen to keep celebrations at a minimum so they could adequately prepare for the key league game against Downs at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in midweek.

The manager has urged his players to put the cup triumph behind them and focus on continuing their fantastic start to the Premiership season that sees them top, on goal difference, ahead of Bidvest Wits after the opening four games.

"I told them it doesn't matter what happens today, tomorrow when I get home I still have to pick up the dog poo and mow the lawn," De Sa told The Sowetan.

"This win is important for us but we must keep our feet on the ground and keep going," he concluded.

Kick-off is on Wednesday, September 23 at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
