De Sa: We fought well

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town manager Roger de Sa chose to look to the positives after seeing his side suffer a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The Urban Warriors gave a good account of themselves in Atteridgeville, and looked to be heading for a 1-1 draw after Tashreeq Morris had levelled the scores at the start of the second stanza.

However, Teko Modise popped up in the 84th minute to head home what turned out to be the winning goal, consigning Ajax to fifth place in the Premiership standings.

And De Sa felt his charges performed well after going behind in the first half, and suggested that the result would have been different if some decisions had gone their way.

"I thought we did well under the circumstances. We fought well," he said.

"We gave a soft goal away through lack of marking, which was very immature and naive, but after that I thought we showed good character against a quality team.

"We took the game to them, and if a couple of decisions had gone our way we probably would have had more out of the game."
