De Sa: It was a good finish

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates coach Roger de Sa was pleased to end the year on a high after his side claimed a 2-0 win away to Golden Arrows on Wednesday night.

According to the soccerladuma.co.za website, the result allowed the Sea Robbers to stick just a point behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs, with De Sa saying that they in line with their goals this season.

Pirates took the lead in the game through a wonderful free-kick from Daine Klate before Happy Jele wrapped up the result.

"It was what we expected. A team that was going to fight and give it their all. I thought in the beginning they defended very well, they kept us out for a while," said De Sa.

"Some magic from Daine and then the game opened up a little bit more. We could have had a few more goals with the chances we had.

"Never the less I think a 2-0 result - three points is what mattered away from home. I'm happy with that, I think it's a good way to finish (2012).

"They didn't really open up, they looked happy to lose 2-0 as well. But for us, it was just three points away from home - staying in touch with Chiefs - we are on target still. So we'll keep going."

The Bucs tactician also took the chance to wish the supporters a happy holiday season, adding, "Merry Christmas to everybody and have a good one."
