Cape Town - Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he is happy in Ghana and has no intention of signing for South African top-flight side Platinum Stars.

Stars parted ways with their number-one goalkeeper, Siyabonga Mpontshane, during the January transfer window, after he left for Orlando Pirates.

The club have subsequently been linked with Dauda, who was part of the Ghana squad that finished second at the African Cup of Nations.

He was also previously on the books of Premiership clubs Orlando Pirates and Chippa United, but struggled for game-time at both teams.

Speaking to Ghanasoccernet, Dauda says he is settled at his current club, Ashanti Gold, and has no intention of making another move down south.

"I do not know about any deal with Platinum Stars or with any South African side," Dauda said.

"I am concentrated on helping Ashgold and that is where the focus is. All reports of me joining a South Africa side are untrue."
