Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town defender Rivaldo Coetzee admitted that the Urban Warriors will have a mountain to climb when they face Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 Cup semi-final second leg next week.
The Urban Warriors and the Clever Boys played to a 1-all draw in the first leg of the R8m competition in Stellenbosch on Saturday, August 15 at the Coetzenburg Stadium.
Toriq Losper was on target for the Mother City based outfit while veteran striker, Henrico Botes, found a much needed equaliser for the Students.
Coetzee, 18, said that their game plan was to score an early goal to unsettle Wits but Botes equaliser could play a significant role in eliminating them from the Wafa-Wafa tournament.
“We knew what to expect heading to that game on Saturday," said Coetzee
“We told ourselves that we need to get an early goal and possibly a second goal too just to kill the game off.
“But unfortunately we have conceded a silly goal and we are really disappointed with that.
“Going to the second leg we’ll be on a back foot because pressure is on us due to their away goal.
“But again we’ll take some positives from the first leg; we dominated the game and created lots of chances.
“We were just unfortunate not to score in the last minutes of the game and that really coasted us a lot.”
