Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has hit out at the clubs making "unprofessional approaches" for highly-rated midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi.
The 25-year-old, who is contracted to the club until 2018, has emerged as a transfer target for a number of Premiership clubs following an impressive 2014/15 campaign.
However, the Clever Boys are understandably determined to hold on to their star player, although that hasn't stopped interested parties from making contact with the player.
Vilakazi's head has been turned by all the interest, according to Hunt, who could not rule out a departure in the current transfer window.
"It's very disturbing what has gone on," Hunt told Sowetan Live.
"The boy's head has been spun around by all these unprofessional approaches.
"No one has come through the front door to say they want him. Instead this entire thing has been handled like the old days, when business was done behind the boot of a car.
"When we want a player we will always approach the club directly. It's come to a point now where the player is with us but his mind is not right and the transfer window is still open, so you never know what will happen."
