Chippa want Sangweni extension

Cape Town - Chippa United are currently negotiating with Mamelodi Sundowns in hopes of extending Thamsanqa Sangweni's stay for another season.

Sangweni had a successful loan spell at Chippa last season which culminated in a number of call-ups to the Bafana Bafana squad.

Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, has in the past viewed Sangweni as surplus to requirements, and it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old is in the team's plans this time around.

"We want to keep him and we are talking to Sundowns," club chairman Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi told KickOff.

"He had a great season with us and also got a chance to play for Bafana Bafana. I believe he is happy to play for Chippa United."
