Chippa sack coach Mngqithi

Cape Town - Chippa United have reportedly axed Manqoba Mngqithi, just two matches into the 41-year-old's reign as head coach.

The former AmaZulu and Golden Arrows tactician was brought in by the Chilli Boys just weeks before the start of their maiden Premier Soccer League campaign.

However, the Mother City outfit have begun life in South Africa's top-flight with two defeats, 1-0 against Mamelodi Sundowns in the season opener and 2-1 against Free State Stars on Tuesday.

Those results have apparently been enough to see club owner Chippa Mpengesi wield the axe, with Manqoba sent packing as the first coaching casualty of the new term.

The Capetonians were unlucky not to have earned a point against Ea Lla Koto this week as an 87th minute strike from Moeketsi Mvula left Chippa empty handed.
