Chippa itching to bounce back

Cape Town - Chippa United will look to bounce back from a weekend defeat when they host Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Chippa saw their unbeaten run ended at six matches when they were beaten 1-0 at Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed 11 points from six home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Black Aces (home), Polokwane City and Kaizer Chiefs (both away).

The Chilli Boys are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 17 points from 11 matches.

Stars suffered a third loss from their last four league games when they were beaten 2-0 at Bidvest Wits on Saturday.

The Free State side has claimed three points from five away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic (home), Mamelodi Sundowns and Black Aces (both away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from as many matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Stars have met in just two previous top flight matches.

Both of those encounters took place in the 2012/13 season and Ea Lla Koto completed a league double over the Chilli Boys, winning 2-1 away and 3-0 at home.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, November 26.
