Chippa United have appointed Mark Harrison as the club’s new head coach, as predicted Soccer-Laduma on Thursday.

Harrison has been given control of the Chilli Boys’ bench as the club aim so see out the season in the hope of salvaging their PSL status.

The former Mpumalanga Black Aces coach replaces Wilfred Mugeyi at the helm, who was relieved of his duties yesterday (Thursday).

Chippa’s media officer, Lukanyo Mzinzi, confirmed with the Siya crew that Harrison has already started in his new role as head coach at the club.

“He was at training this morning. It’s just that I can’t issue a press release at the moment because the chairman (Siviwe Mpengesi) is away. But it’s official, and I can confirm that,” said Mzinzi.

Harrison has got a tough job at hand, to try and save the club from relegation in their last six games of the season. The Cape side is at the basement of the PSL log with three wins from 24 games to date in the current 2012/13 campaign.
