Chiefs want to keep Karuru

Cape Town - During the off season Kaizer Chiefs put some of their players including Zimbabwean winger Ovidy Karuru on loan list.

But after coach Steve Komphela took over he asked the management to have a look at Karuru and make his own decision on the player.

A Sport24 source close to the player and Chiefs said that the team seemed to have changed their mind, and they want to keep the player at Naturena.

The source said that it's now all up to Komphela to decide whether the player stays or not.

"Karuru could be staying at the team though it all depends on whether coach Steve Komphela wants to keep him for now,” the source said.

"He asked the management to have a look at him and that he should access the player in pre-season, and that's why he is still with the team as we speak right now."
