Chiefs want R20m for star

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs are set to lose another big star to an overseas club and this time it could be midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala.

Sowetan reports that the Saudi Arabian soccer giants Al-Ittihad have approached Amakhosi with an offer for the Bafana Bafana deputy captain.

The club has made a R10 million offer for Tshabalala in a deal covering three seasons.

Amakhosi reportedly said they were willing to sell the former Free State Stars player for R20 million.

Chiefs general manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed that negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage.

Al-Ittihad are based in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah. It is one of the oldest clubs in Saudi Arabia, established in 1927.
