Chiefs v Downs down to the wire

Johannesburg - Former Kaizer Chiefs defender, Rudolf Gardner Seale, says the game between Amakhosi and Mamelodi Sundowns will decide this season's title decider.

Kick-off is at 20:15 from the FNB stadium

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the former left-back revealed that for Sundowns it’s a do or die as they haven’t tasted league success in the past few years, going on to state that every team in the league wants to beat Chiefs and that they have a mountain to climb.

However, Gardner said Chiefs have continued where they left off in the league after their failure in the CAF Champions League.

“They picked up their league form in the league despite their early exit in the CAF, however, I think it’s a blessing in disguise as we know Kaizer Motaung didn’t actually like participating in Africa in the past. Yes Chiefs is under pressure from Sundowns but they must play it cool and focus at all times. They must take it easy, one game at a time. By the way, let me contradict myself, the league could also go to the last game.

“I foresee a draw tonight, a 2-2 draw and not more than that. Both teams want it and I believe Pitso will be happy to get a draw especially against Chiefs. Pitso can have different styles, I know him from SuperSport United. He can play one striker or two and it’s difficult to predict his style or tactics or advise Chiefs players. I just see a big game of football and a tough one hence these are two giants in South African football,” added Seale.

Amakhosi top the standings with 52 points after 23 games, and the Brazilians trail them by just three points having accumulated 49 points after 24 games, however, the Naturena-based side have a game in hand.
