Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs have unveiled their new kit ahead of the 2011/12 season that pays homage to the club's tradition by incorporating the infamous Amakhosi badge in its design.
The club's traditional black and gold shirts have received a significant makeover which will surely leave fans divided as to whether or not they like the new look.
The club unveiled their fresh new kit at the Nike Football Centre in Soweto on Tuesday evening with Chiefs Marketing director Jessica Motaung revealing the decision to launch such a bold new jersey.
She said: "The jersey has been designed using our emblem as inspiration, the jersey's design is inspired by the tradition and history of the club, the way it is designed will serve to motivate us.
"We wanted something that was unique, as leaders in industry we looked at our Chief Crown logo and drew from that when finalizing the design.
"We wanted something to give us a new beginning and Nike have done that with this new design, it represents a new dawn and a fresh start for us and hopefully with the new Jersey will come success."
The away kit remains the traditional white colour although it has an imprint of the clubs Chief head symbol on the sleeves.
The home and away shirt will be sold from the 7th of July with a replica on sale for R599 and a stadium version retailing at a cost of R399.
