Chiefs to oust Ajax ahead of derby?

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will look to bounce back from Absa Premiership defeat when they host Ajax Cape Town at the FNB Stadium.

Chiefs suffered their first league defeat of the season in their previous outing, going down 2-0 away to SuperSport United.

The Soweto giants have claimed 24 points from 10 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Orlando Pirates (home), Maritzburg United and Moroka Swallows (both away).

The Amakhosi are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 47 points from 20 matches.

Ajax claimed their first league win of 2015 when they defeated Chippa United 2-0 at home on Friday night.

The Cape Town side has claimed six points from nine matches on the road this season.

Their next three league opponents are SuperSport United (away), Black Aces (home) and Platinum Stars (away).

The Urban Warriors are placed fifth on the log with 28 points from 20 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Ajax have met in 31 league matches since 1999/2000.

The Amakhosi have 13 wins compared to nine for the Urban Warriors, while nine matches have been drawn.

Chiefs have won nine of their 15 home matches against Ajax, suffering two defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, a Mashamaite goal handed the Amakhosi a 1-0 win in Cape Town.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, March 4.
