Chiefs to host Hoffenheim

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will prepare for the resumption of the Premiership season in earnest when they host TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in a friendly fixture at the FNB Stadium on Friday, January 16.

Chiefs are currently at the top of the Premiership standings, having accumulated 46 points from 18 matches this season.

While there are some doubts about Chiefs’ capacity to build on that platform during the second half of the season, the Glamour Boys will have an opportunity to prove a point against stern opposition in Hoffenheim, who are currently among the top seven in the Bundesliga standings.

The fixture will also provide an opportunity for some of Chiefs’ fringe players to try and win over coach Stuart Baxter, as several of the senior squad members are currently on national duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, which is being staged in Equatorial Guinea.

Tickets for the last are available at Computicket for R40 for adults and R10 for Under-12s.
