Johannesburg - Bobby Motaung has confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs will be taking part in the CAF Confederations Cup, with the draw for the play-off round set to take place on 1 April.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Chiefs lost 3-2 to AS Vita on aggregate in the CAF Champions League second round, and the eight losers in the second round, including last year’s Champions League winners Al Ahly, will now go into the draw for Africa’s second most prestigious competition.
According to the club’s official Twitter site, Motaung said, “We will go ahead with the CAF Confederation Cup and participate.
“I'm proud of the boys they played well. We created many chances and failed to capitalise on them.
“We will have a meeting with the coach on Tuesday to discuss the schedule, and way forward.”
