Chiefs to announce Itu's exit?

Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs have come to terms with not having Itumeleng Khune in goal next season as his departure looms closer.

According to the Sunday Times, the Motaung family have jointly accepted that Khune has reached his time limit at the Naturena club.

Khune’s contract with Amakhosi will expire at the end of June which entitles the ‘keeper to join any club on a free transfer.

Since contract negotiations have stalled throughout the season, Khune has been strongly linked with a move to arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Last week, Sport24 reported that Pitso Mosimane is chasing the signatures of both George Lebese and Khune. The former Bafana coach is trying to lure all the players he coached during his stint as the national side’s mentor.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
