Chiefs' tackling angers Johnson

Cape Town - After watching his side eliminated from the Telkom Knockout by Kaizer Chiefs, Platinum Stars head coach Cavin Johnson accused Amakhosi of kicking his players off the park.

Chiefs effectively shut Dikwena down throughout the entire match and held a comfortable 1-0 lead until they added two more in second half stoppage time to claim an emphatic 3-0 win.

Johnson was unhappy with what he perceived as rough housing tactics from Glamour Boys, which limited his side's ability to impact the game.

"It boils down to who you are playing against and, in all respect to Kaizer Chiefs, I've never seen a Kaizer Chiefs side that kicks so much but this one kicks," Johnson told KickOff.

However, Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela disagreed claiming, if that had been the case, his side would have been shown more yellow cards.

"Not physical. If physical then maybe in the right levels of football," Komphela explained.

"If we were physical I'm sure they would have been more yellows on our side compared to them. There could have even been a red.

"We just wanted it more. We were within the rules and regulations of football so that was sweet aggression."
