Chiefs sweat on Khune injury

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic is hopeful Itumeleng Khune recovers swiftly from the heavy knock he sustained against Arrows.

The Amakhosi skipper was stretchered off on the hour-mark after clashing heads with Arrows hitman Thamsanqa Gabuza in a goalless draw at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Gabuza later exited proceedings in injury time looking likewise the worse for wear.

In a post-match interview, Vermezovic revealed Khune was left disoriented by the blow but the Serbian had yet to discover the extent of the injury.

"I don't know how he is," he said.

"They tell me he had a strong blow on the neck. He was a little lost in time and didn't know where he was.

"But we will see, I hope he will be good."
