Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs have been dealt a massive blow with the news Reneilwe Letsholonyane will miss the remainder of the PSL season with a knee injury.

The Amakhosi midfielder sustained the knock while playing for Bafana Bafana against Zambia last week, and the Soweto club's medical staff have now revealed the 29-year-old will not be available for selection for the rest of the campaign.

Speaking to Chiefs' official website, coach Vladimir Vermezovic said: "Reneilwe will be out for the rest of the season due to injury.

"It is not the first time that a player from Chiefs has come back from Bafana Bafana with an injury. It is a blow for us.

"We will have to look at other players in the squad to fill the gap left by him."

Despite the Serbian's clear frustration at having players return from international duty injured, the coach insists he will continue to supply the national team with any players they request.

"We have always supported Bafana Bafana and we will continue to release players called up for national duty," he added.
