Chiefs shift focus to Sundowns

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic has said that his charges have enough time to recover before travelling to Loftus Versfeld for the game against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.

Chiefs suffered their third defeat of the season against another Pretoria side, SuperSport United in Polokwane on Wednesday evening.

“Sundowns are in a better psychological position as compared to us following their comprehensive win in Cape Town,” admitted VV on Wednesday evening.

“I have no doubt though that we the players would have recovered following the defeat here (Peter Mokaba) this evening. It will be a new ball game and this evening (Wednesday) results will not count on Sunday. We will try and win the game on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys will be without inspirational defender, Dominic Isaacs who is suspended for the game but will welcome Thomas Sweswe who missed the outing in Polokwane due to suspension.

“We are delighted Thomas Sweswe is back for the next game; either (Brent) Lawler or Lincoln (Zvasiya) will partner him on Sunday.

Vermezovic gave the young Lucky Baloyi his full debut against Sundowns last season believes that one of the two players might grab the opportunity like Baloyi who has starred for the team this season.

“Young players cannot grow sitting on the bench. It is important that they play - I am never afraid playing youngsters and like Baloyi last season I have no doubt that one of the two will get an experience on Sunday. Sometimes even bad experience in a game is not bad. It does help you grow. Brent and Lincolin have both been doing well in training and should get a chance.
