Chiefs sack Vermezovic

Johannesburg - Premier Soccer League club Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with Serbian coach Vladimir Vermezovic following a string of uninspiring results, the club announced through a statement on their website.

The termination of the contract is with immediate effect and follows a meeting held on Thursday between club chairman Kaizer Motaung, Vermezovic and football manager Bobby Motaung along with the coach’s agent.

“It was agreed to part ways with immediate effect, in order to allow both parties to prepare for the new season in good time,” read the statement.

“The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank the Coach for his services during his tenure at Kaizer Chiefs for the last three (3) seasons and to wish him all the best for his future endevours.”

The Naturena club will not be appointing a permanent replacement just yet and will rely on assistant coach Donald “Ace” Khuse to steer the ship until the end of the season. He will be assisted by Doctor Khumalo, Arthur Zwane and the rest of the Technical Team.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
