Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs have refused to concede that the PSL title race is out of their hands. This is despite Mamelodi Sundowns being strong favourites to take honours if they win their remaining matches.
According to the soccerladuma website, the Glamour Boys next face Free State Stars in the league on Wednesday evening, in what could be a crucial clash. Ea Lla Koto are battling relegation, whereas Chiefs simply can't afford to drop any more points.
Chiefs captain, Itumeleng Khune, expressed how motivated the club were ahead of the match. He told the club's official website, "They are not safe at the moment on the league table.
"They are lying second from the bottom on the log. At this stage of the league every team is fighting its own battle. The race is on, on all fronts, all the teams are gunning for something."
"We are chasing the league, SuperSport United and other teams are fighting to stay in the top eight. We will not take any team let alone Free State Stars for granted. We will compete in any game to the best of our ability."
'Itu' added how determined he and the team were as the finishing line drew nearer, "We are not used to having it easy. Most of the teams raise the bar when they play against us. It is going to be an interesting last few days of the league."
"We have nine points to play for in the league, and every point matters during this business end of the league. We are excited about the race to the finishing line and can't wait to play on Wednesday night against Stars."
Wednesday's action gets underway from 19:30 at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
