Chiefs ready to return

Johannesburg - Absa Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs will return to duty on Friday starting with their routine testing, followed by training on Monday.

According to the supersport.com website, the club will be hoping for a better season after a disappointing 2013/14 season in which they finished second, having led most of the campaign. They also failed to claim any cup glory.

According to the club website, the players are ready to return to action after a month-long break.

The team is expected to announce player movements during the course of next week with players like Platinum Stars striker Siphelele Mthembu, Ajax Cape Town’s Keegan Dolly have been linked with the club. The Glamour Boys are expected to release some of the players who failed to impress last season.

The team is also negotiating for the services of striker Knowledge Musona from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. Musona was on a one year loan to Naturena.

Communications manager Vina Maphosa is happy with the team’s return.

"We are looking forward to welcome back our players at the village on Friday. The players will be taken through their testing programme before they start their pre-season training next week."

"We are all looking forward to a new beginning and we are inviting the supporters to continue with their support for the team.

We are aware most of the supporters are eagerly waiting to know about the plans for the new season which we will reveal in the next week," said Maphosa.
