Chiefs to get back on the rails

Cape Town - Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs will meet for a top vs bottom PSL clash at the Dobsonville Stadium.

Swallows suffered a fifth defeat from their last six league matches when they were beaten 2-1 by Black Aces on Saturday.

The Soweto side has claimed 11 points from 12 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Chippa United, SuperSport United and University of Pretoria (all away).

The Birds are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 22 points from 23 matches.

Chiefs suffered just their second league defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 by Maritzburg United in their last outing.

The Soweto giants have claimed 23 points from 11 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are AmaZulu (home), University of Pretoria (away) and Polokwane City (home).

The Amakhosi are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 51 points from 23 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Chiefs have met in 60 league matches since 1985.

The Amakhosi have 33 wins compared to 11 for the Birds, while 16 matches have been drawn.

Swallows have won just six of their 29 home matches against Chiefs, suffering 16 defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, goals from Letsholonyane and Baloyi saw the Amakhosi and Birds play to a 1-1 draw.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, March 18.
