Chiefs keep eyes on Tuks victory

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will look to inflict another Absa Premiership defeat on University of Pretoria when the teams meet at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs recorded their second league win of the season when they defeated SuperSport United 4-1 away on September 12.

The Soweto side’s only previous home match this season was a 4-0 win over Free State Stars.

The Amakhosi are placed third on the Absa Premiership log with eight points from four matches.

University of Pretoria suffered a third league defeat this season when they went down 1-0 at home to Bidvest Wits on September 13.

The Tshwane team has lost both of their two away matches so far this season.

AmaTuks are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with three points from four matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Tuks have met in six league matches since the 2012/13 season.

The Amakhosi have four wins compared to one for AmaTuks, while one match has been drawn.

Chiefs are unbeaten at home to the University side, with two wins and a draw from three matches.

Last season the Amakhosi did a league ‘double’ over AmaTuks, winning 2-1 at home and 1-0 away.

Four of the teams’ six league matches have ended with a 1-0 score line.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, September 23.
