New Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela could soon be reunited with two of his previous players from Free State Stars.
City Press has reliably learnt that Togolese striker Camaldine Abraw and Daniel Cardoso are among the new faces expected to be unveiled by Amakhosi.
However, Chiefs may have to fight it out with Bloemfontein Celtic for Abraw, who has reportedly signed for Siwelele.
But the Chiefs source insisted Amakhosi had secured the striker’s signature.
“Contrary to what Celtic are saying, he is coming here, as we have finalised everything with him.
“We are waiting for him to return from holiday and we will unveil him as one of us,” said the high-ranking Chiefs insider.
Celtic’s CEO, Khumbulani Konco, told City Press they had concluded a pre-contract agreement with the striker.
“We are not worried about those talks because we have his papers with us.
“He will join us when he comes back next week,” said Konco.
Chiefs are also believed to be in the final stages of signing Bafana Bafana’s Russia-based defender, Siyanda Xulu, Polokwane City’s Cole Alexander and a winger, believed to be from the continent.
Amakhosi could unveil as many as six new players, according to the informant.

The team is also thought to have been reunited with one-time goalie Brian Baloyi, who is expected to work with German goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker.
“Brian is coming back with a view to be Rainer’s understudy. We must have a succession plan in place and Brian knows the club’s culture, hence we have identified him.”
The source said they were looking at three defenders, a midfielder, a winger and a striker.
He said they were still in discussions with City regarding the highly rated Alexander.
“It’s back and forth, but we believe we will capture him. We have been engaging with them but it has not been easy as they value him and want to hold on to him, although he has made it clear he wants to join us.”
The source said that Xulu, a former Chiefs development player, was in the country but still had to resolve some issues with his Russian side, FC Rostov.
Chiefs have also been linked to former PSL footballer of the season Sibusiso Vilakazi but the source revealed that Bidvest Wits were playing hardball.
Chiefs recently parted ways with goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, defender Tefu Mashamaite and midfielder Mandla Masango.
The trio’s contracts were not renewed due to their high monetary demands, according to Chiefs when the club officially announced their departures at a press conference a fortnight ago.
The club has also released midfielders Josta Dladla and Siyabonga Nkosi.
It has been reported that Khune, Masango and George Lebese may follow previous coach Stuart Baxter to Turkish side Gençlerbirligi.
