Sangweni not scared of Chiefs form

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Siyabonga Sangweni has admitted that there is no need for panic following Kaizer Chiefs’ unbeaten PSL form.

According to KickOff Magazine, Sangweni “strongly believes” that the Buccaneers still have a chance to win the league.

“It is not how you start but how you finish which counts because you only win the league at the end of the season.

“What Kaizer Chiefs is doing doesn’t scare me at all. You can start very well, only to end up failing at the end of the season,” said Sangweni.

Pirates have won four, loss on three outings and have drawn two matches in the Absa Premiership. The Soweto club are eighth on the standings and Sangweni acknowledges that they must improve on their bad start in order to fight for honours.

“Their good start and our bad start doesn’t mean anything because what counts is what happens after 30 games.

“For now we are not even looking at the log but rather concentrating on our next opponents.

"Once we deal with our next opponent you will see how the log issue will start sorting itself out.”

Meanwhile, Pirates are up against SuperSport United when the Premiership resumes on Sunday, November 23.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
