Chiefs do it for Madiba in PE

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will be spending 67 minutes of their pre-season training camp doing it for Madiba in Port Elizabeth.  

The Glamour Boys are based in PE as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2014/15 PSL season.

Marketing Director Jessica Motaung said, on the club's website, "This year's celebration is extra special as it's the first year we will mark Mandela Day following Madiba's passing in 2013. With our main sponsor, Vodacom we will be engaging in food packing as part of the Vodacom National Food Security 2014 Project. The project is aimed to promote nutrition. The food parcels will include nutrition rich food vital for the health of learners. Part of the project includes the promotion of hygiene and nutrition by promoting hand washing before eating, that's why were including soap in parcels and key messages on hand washing. We will be joining the Vodacom staff to hand out food parcels at selected schools."

"The day of action is near. As Kaizer Chiefs we are excited to join hands with our main sponsor Vodacom in the Food Security 2014 Project. The day itself ties well with our Corporate Social Investment and the project itself is key in terms of sustainability of human kind. We are looking forward to pause from the training ground and the offices to make a contribution to the day. We would like to thank our main sponsor Vodacom once more for the initiative which goes to show that we are conscious of the needs of the societies that we serve," said Motaung.
