Chiefs discipline upsets Baxter

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter lashed out at the poor discipline his side displayed after their loss to Black Aces on Wednesday night.

Miguel Timm scored the only goal of the match as Aces registered a 1-0 win at the FNB Stadium.

The loss saw Chiefs relinquish top spot on the PSL log to Mamelodi Sundowns, who were victorious in their game against Bloemfontein Celtic.

“Frustration, disappointment - I don’t think we showed the quality in terms of our technical game or the quality in terms of our mental game to wrestle the game away from Black Aces,” Baxter told the Soccer-Laduma website.

“We lost our discipline at the finish. If we didn’t score it should have been 0-0, very much like I felt after the Sundowns game.

“But because of a lack of discipline we lose our shape and they very quickly counter with a goal.

“That is part of the game and you have to bite the bullet.”

Chiefs' next league match is away to Polokwane City on April 16.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
