Mtsweni has been released on bail after he was caught doing an astonishing 196km/h on the N12 in the Alberton area, Gauteng over the weekend.

The Stars of Africa graduate allegedly kept driving after being requested to stop by traffic cops.

"It reportedly took three Ekurhuleni Metro police on motorbikes and one in a cop car to eventually corner him at the Edenvale exit on the R21 freeway," according to a Daily Sun report.

"He was bust going east at 196km/h on the N12 freeway and Cops said he claimed to be rushing to a club soccer camp."

The player's club, meanwhile, have declined to comment on the report. Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa said: "This is the player's personal matter. The club can't comment further."

Kick-off for the City encounter is at 19:30.
