Johannesburg - Following earlier reports linking French Ligue 1 side, Rennes, with Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana winger Mandla Masango, Amakhosi media manager Vina Maphosa has said the club is in the dark regarding the news.
Masango's agent, Walter Mokoena earlier confirmed that the Ligue 1 outfit's director of football Jean Luc Buisine is monitoring the 25-year-old's progress.
Maphosa confirmed to Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Monday that he is unaware of the news.
"I honestly don’t know anything about their interest in the player," said Maphosa.
"This is the first time am hearing it.
The rejuvenated Masango made a dream start to the 2014/15 PSL season with his impressive form for both club and country.
"I can’t say it’s just a rumour and I also can’t confirm anything because the club doesn’t know anything.
"If I hear anything going forward I will let you know," concluded Maphosa.
The Kwaggafontein-born player is currently on duty with the national team in Polokwane.
Bafana will face Congo-Brazzaville in their return AFCON qualifier at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Wednesday night.
