Chiefs boss credits players

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs boss Vladimir Vermezovic heaped praise on his players after they dismissed Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium at the weekend.

The Serbian was delighted with the way his side attacked Aces and credited the team's mental strength after seeing out the win despite Valery Nahayo's red card.

"I think we played well and we created lot of chances. Aces goalkeeper (Dennis Onyango) was on top of his game and the score margin in my opinion should have been higher," Vermezovic told Chiefs' official website.

"I also think the players showed character winning the game with one man down after Valery Nahayo was sent off in the second half. I would like to congratulate the players for such a sterling performance."

Vermezovic also empathised with AmaZayoni's situation as the defeat killed off their hopes of staying in the top flight.

He added: "It saddens me that the club will now be relegated following this defeat. This is the nature of our job where results are important and today we wanted to win the game.

"I would like to wish them all the best going forward. Aces deserved to be in the Premier League and that is why they are also contesting for the Nedbank."
