Chiefs' Yeye to see specialist

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane will see a specialist on Thursday as he looks to discover the full extent of his knee injury.

Amakhosi coach Vladimir Vermezovic on Wednesday claimed the playmaker would not take to the field again this season after picking up the knock while on duty with Bafana Bafana last week.

And while Letsholonyane is set to visit a knee specialist, he does not expect too much change in terms of the time he will spend on the sidelines.

"I'm seeing the doctor on Thursday, and that's when I'll find out how serious it is," Letsholonyane said.

"No one wants to be injured but unfortunately it's also part of the job description of the sport we are playing.

"I'm not happy but there is nothing that I can do, my focus now is on getting better."

Chiefs have just under one month to return to full fitness following the Christmas break, with Vermezovic's men set to take on strugglers Jomo Cosmos at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on February 15.
