Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala and Orlando Pirates defender Lucas Thwala were honoured when the most popular South African football clubs held end-of-season award ceremonies.
Tshabalala, included in a provisional FIFA 2009 Confederations Cup squad named last week by the host nation, collected six awards including Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and Supporters' Player of the Year.
Thwala, also in the 30-strong Confederation Cup squad and Pirates leading scorer despite his position, was voted Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year.
But the Supporters' Player of the Year award went to midfielder Teko Modise, expected to play a key role when South Africa face Iraq, New Zealand and Spain next month in the 2010 World Cup dress-rehearsal.
