The 29-year-old will not renew his contract with the Dube Birds when the current campaign concludes in May, ending a four-year stay with the club.

Swallows CEO Leon Prins confirmed to the Sowetan that Chabangu is headed for the exit door.

“I would definitely like to keep him, there is no doubt about that,” said Prins.

“But all I can say now is that he is giving his all for the team.

“He is fully focused on Swallows and helping us in this relegation battle.”

Prior to joining Swallows, Chabangu had endured some tough years as off-the-field issues saw him sidelined at previous club Mamelodi Sundowns.

He has also played for Pretoria University and SuperSport United, where he won a league medal under Gavin Hunt, the current Bidvest Wits manager.
