Celtic to take Amakhosi to DRC

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic confirmed they will be taking Kaizer Chiefs and Camaldine Abraw to the PSL Dispute Resolution Council over the player's move to the Soweto giants.

The Congolese striker was unveiled by Amakhosi as one of five new signings on Tuesday, June 23 as the club look to bolster its squad to defend their Absa Premiership title next season.

However, the club Abraw will represent next term has been thrown into doubt after Celtic claimed the player had a contract with the Bloemfontein club, saying Chiefs had no right to sign the forward.

"He is our player," Siwelele CEO Khumbulani Konco told KickOff.

"We taking the matter to the DRC, it's as simple as that."

Abraw, who finished last term with Free State Stars, looked set to play a big role for Amakhosi after he was handed the number nine jersey at his unveiling and new coach Steve Komphela revealed his excitement about Chiefs' attacking reinforcements.

However, he will now have to wait and see if Celtic have a valid case before he knows for certain where his ultimate destination lies.
