Tuks, Celtic to duel for three points

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic will look to add to their Polokwane City thumping with downing the University of Pretoria at Tuks Stadium.

University of Pretoria have gone five league matches without a win and suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to SuperSport United in their last outing.

Steve Barker’s side has lost all three of their home matches thus far this season.

Their next three league opponents are Maritzburg United (away), Ajax Cape Town (home) and Moroka Swallows (away).

AmaTuks are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with six points from eight matches.

Celtic recorded their first home win of the season when they defeated Polokwane City 5-1 on the weekend which lifted some pressure off coach Ernst Middendorp after reports reveals he was facing being sacked.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed four points from as many away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits (home), Maritzburg United (away) and Chippa United (home).

Phunya Sele Sele are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with nine points from eight matches.

In head-to-head stats, Tuks and Celtic have met in four league matches since 2012/13.

The Pretoria side has two wins compared to one for Phunya Sele Sele while the remaining match ended in a draw.

AmaTuks have an unbeaten home record against Celtic, with a win and draw from their two matches as hosts.

Last season each side claimed a 2-0 home win against the other. Nyondo and Massa netted for Tuks in their win, while Buchanan and Mhango scored for Phunya Sele Sele in their victory.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, October 22.
