Celtic eye Wits scalp

Bloemfontein - Ahead of their upcoming MTN8 clash this weekend, Bloemfontein Celtic’s media and communications manager, Sello Nduna, said they are ready to upset Bidvest Wits in their season opener.

Celtic will travel to Bidvest Stadium to lock horns with the Clever Boys in the first MTN8 quarter-final on Friday night.

History favours the Students heading into the encounter. They grabbed four victories over Phunya Sele Sele last season.

However, Nduna believes their record against Gavin Hunt’s charges will serve as motivation for the Free State team.

“Preparations for the Friday game are going well so far,” said Nduna

“We are determined for a payback, now is the payback time.

“I am saying so because we lost all our four games to Bidvest Wits last season. They eliminated us from the MTN8 and the Telkom Knockout last season. And they also managed to win both of our league fixtures. This gives us every reason to fight back this time around. We will be more motivated because we managed to beat them in the pre-season game two weeks ago.”

The game will is scheduled to kick-off at 19:30.
