Cape Town - Daniel Cardoso will again miss out on Free Stars pre-season training following a recurrence of a stress fracture injury.
According to the Free State Stars website, the injury that derailed the early part of Cordoso's 2013/14 season has flared up and will hamper his pre-season preparation.
Free State Stars utility defender Daniel Cardoso is expecting a good season for Ea Lla Koto under new Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet.
‘Mlungu’, as he is affectionately known, missed the better part of last season due to a stress fracture injury.
On his return, he gave numerous sterling performances, winning several of man of the match accolades.
However, Cardoso will again miss out on the pre-season following a recurrence of the injury.
The 25 year old Johannesburg-born player has not had time with the new coach on the field, but he has high hopes and praise for the tactician.
“His CV speaks volume he is highly qualified and most importantly he has worked in Africa. He has a good background about our Absa PSL league. I think he is the man to take the team to greater heights,” explained the confident defender.
Cardoso has a big vision for this coming season and is targeting silverware with the club, and hopes to get a national team call-up as well.
