Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs' new signing Daniel Cardoso admits that his injury has left him feeling frustrated.
The defender recently started on his rehab program and faces a spell on the sidelines while the new season kicks off on August 8.
“Well I am still nursing my injury at the moment it’s still going to be a while. I just started my rehab program, a bit of strengthening and conditioning,” Cardoso told Sport24.
“I am still going to be probably out by mid-August to early September. It’s pretty sad, annoying actually.”
Cardoso says that he is looking forward to the season and what the team has to offer but the former Free State Stars defender is aware of the challenges that lie ahead.
“It’s going to be a very challenging season for sure, as you know every team is going to be after us since Chiefs won last season.”
“But we are looking forward to picking up where we left off with the likes of the MTN8, Telkom Knockout and winning some few trophies.”
Cardoso will miss his new club's Carling Black Label Cup clash which takes place at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The match kicks off at 15:30.
