Bucs 'will win title'

Johannesburg - SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has had to watch his title slip away from him but despite uncertainty about its next destination, he reckons Orlando Pirates will wear the crown this term, reports the Sowetan.

United bounced back from an embarrassing 5-0 thrashing by Bloemfontein Celtic when they trounced Moroka Swallows 3-0 at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday night.

After the match, Hunt said leaders Pirates would walk away with the league title.

"Pirates will win it. They have enough points to win the title, so yes, I think they'll win it," Hunt said.

The Buccaneers will be hoping to bolster their title hopes when they visit Celtic at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on Sunday (15:30).

Celtic are unbeaten at home in the Premiership this season and it remains to be seen if Pirates will be able to beat them in front of their intimidating supporters.

A win for the Sea Robbers will extend their unbeaten run to 16 games. What makes this clash even more exciting is that Celtic and Pirates go into the encounter buoyed by midweek success. The Buccaneers walloped Maritzburg United 3-1 and Phunya SeleSele triumphed 1-0 at Santos.

Bucs are also hoping to complete a double over Celtic after beating them 2-1 in the first round.

Bucs midfielder Mark "Professor" Mayambela said they were determined to come back from Bloemfontein with the three points.

"I played for Celtic for three years and we used to redouble our efforts against big guns, so we expect Celtic to come to us from the onset. But we will be able to deal with them," Mayambela said.

Celtic midfielder Bennett Chenene, a former Bucs player, said: "Pirates are in terrific form but we won't allow them to beat us in our own backyard."
