Bucs headed for Egypt

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates will travel to Egypt this week ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg clash against Al Ahly SC on Sunday.

The two sides will renew their rivalry at the Suez Army stadium in Cairo, with the kick-off scheduled for 20:30.

Heading to this much anticipated clash, the Buccaneers hold a slender advantage after winning last Saturday's first leg 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium courtesy of Thamsanqa Gabuza goal.

The 1995 CAF Champions league winners will be boosted by the return of Happy Jele, who missed the previous due to one-match ban for picking up too many bookings.

Saturday's clash will be the sixth meeting between the two sides since 2013 and history favours the Soweto giants over the eight time African champions.

In the previous five meetings, the Buccaneers have managed to get past the Egyptian giants on two occasions while the Red Devils have only registered a single win, when they triumphed 2-0 in the CAF Champions league final two years ago.

The winner on Sunday will face either EL Sahel Etoile of Tunisia or Zamalek SC of Egypt in the final later this year.
