Cape Town - Following both teams’ poor start to the ABSA Premiership, Orlando Pirates will be looking to pile more misery on the wounded Polokwane City when they lock horns at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
City suffered their fourth consecutive loss when Golden Arrows beat them 2-1 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium over the weekend and the defeat signalled the end of head coach, Duncan Lechesa’s, helm at the club.
Lechesa handed in his resignation on Monday morning together with his assistant, Mandla Ncikazi, as well as the club’s general manager, Obed Legobate.
Ncikazi and Lebogate’s reasons for parting ways with the Limpopo outfit are yet to be disclosed.
Meanwhile, Roger de Sa’s charges will be playing their second PSL game due to their participation in the CAF Champions League.
The Buccaneers lost their opening game of the season, 1-0, to Craig Rosslee ‘s AmaZulu last month and this time they will be all out to get maximum points.
The good news for Pirates will be the return of Andile Jali, Thabo Matlaba and Happy Jele after the trio missed the weekend’s
Champions League clash against AC Leopards of Congo due to suspensions.
The bottom-of-the-log clash will kick off at 19:30.
