Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have confirmed defender Siyabonga Sangweni will be missing "for some time" with the knee injury he sustained last week.

The centre-back was forced to withdraw from the Buccaneers' CAF Confederations Cup squad ahead of last week's second-leg encounter against Uganda Revenue Authority, which the Soweto giants drew 2-2 to progress to the second round with a 4-3 aggregate success.
And, Pirates have now revealed the South Africa international will miss a large chunk of the season's run-in, with club PRO Mickey Modisane telling Soccer Laduma: "Siyabonga will be out for some time with a knee injury. It's bad but not worse.
"The doctors are working with him and we hope that he will recover sooner rather than later. But at the moment he is still nursing the injury and he is out."
The news means Sangweni will miss Wednesday's Premiership clash against Platinum Stars, where Pirates will be looking to keep touch with second-placed Mamelodi, who are three points ahead but with a far superior goal difference and a game in hand.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
