Bucs complete Mbesuma deal

2012-08-16 14:05

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates have confirmed the signing of Zambia international Collins Mbesuma on a three-year contract.

The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner joins the double treble champions from Golden Arrows, where he has played for the past two seasons.

The striker becomes the second attacking signing for Buccaneers this week following the arrival of Takesure Chinyama.

Both players will be hoping to make their Buccaneers debuts when the side take on SuperSport United in the MTN8 semi-finals on Sunday.

I am not sure where we are taking this guy. Is this Rantie's replacement???? Come on Khoza!! I hope he proves me wrong but I think he has passed his sell by date....

I agree Crook. We can't keep recycling players when there is so much talent on the wings. Who said Pirates needed strikers anyway. They've got a very potent strike force as it is. All they need is to organise their strategy better, to convert their numerous chances into goals.

  • rodney.sambo - 2012-08-16 16:30

I'm not happy with this too, when was the last time he scored? why u don't pick people like Tshabalala??? Bucs looked confused!!!

  • thabiso.mathiba - 2012-08-16 16:43

i believe mbesuma wil do well at pirates. those who critisize him is bcause they r afraid of him. he is going to punish many clubs bcause he joined the champions. kaizer chiefs fans must get over and focus on their team. winning 6-0 against amazulu is nothing i would have scored 7 goals against amazulu so its long way 2 go for kaizer chiefs.

Mabhakabhaka kwenzenjani, r u becoming a retirement home for out of place players. Mbesuma, i dont think he will add any value. He is fat and finished!

I am not sure how to react to this issue. We are champions and should employ championship material, or rather players to be humanly correct. We should be looking at young and hungry players, willing to sweat and die on the pitch for The Black and White (sometimes Red). I am not sure what the reasons for this move was, but we already have Benni, who can motivate the young player we get, and mould them into being what he was in his hey days. Reasons for this acquisition are known to the management team and I hope this does not turn to bite us where we least expect. Mbesuma or not, I am and will forever be a Bucanneer. I, we, demand another star above our badge and I, we, demand one last treble. That should be all, our leaders/management.

i think this is a good move by bucs, mbesuma is a natural finisher, his composure infront of the goals will add value to the bucs ship, he's an option to Beni when he is out injured or suspended

Success is getting to Khoza's head to the point that he is drunk. We should be signing players that will take us forward for another five years and not confused rejects like Mbesuma. If Khoza is so hungry for signing, why not promote young players who will ride on the past two seasons' success at the team. This is a waste of Buccaneer's money.
